Tale of an Arnica Moment
I is for injury and that calls for Arnica.
INJURY
Arnica Montana (Arnica) is frequently the remedy that opens the world of homeopathy up to those who are new to this amazing medicine. It is great for bruising, swelling, and pain. All of these are common with injuries.
My very young son decided to hit his head on the hard tile floor one day. Well, I guess he didn’t decide to do it so much as made a bad decision and fell down, thus hitting his head on the floor.
When he stood up and I got to him he immediately had a goose egg forming on his forehead. I quickly gave him Arnica and he soon calmed down. I gave him another dose before he went to bed. When he awoke the next morning it was completely gone and no bruising to be found.
This can be compared to times before I learned about homeopathy when bumps have stayed for days and bruising takes a week or more to dissipate after an unfortunate child bumped his head.
Injuries is just one of the many conditions that Arnica is used for. As a mother of seven boys this has been my main reason for using Arnica. It is also useful for labor, arthritis, surgery, jet lag, and many other conditions. This little yellow flower, when prepared homeopathically, is a must have for any homeopathic toolbox.
As my mentor Joette Calabrese says “When in Doubt: Arnica!”
